Basic Internet Investigative Techniques

This is an interactive course aimed at corporate and government investigators who have minimal experience in conducting investigations in a network environment. The attendee will learn the basic principles that investigators should apply when conducting an investigation involving computers and computer networks. The attendee will also participate in hands on exercises that simulate investigations of unauthorized computer access, phishing/pharming schemes, corporate espionage and Internet fraud. Basic Internet Investigative Techniques also covers the protocols necessary to investigate and interrogate email to determine the sender of electronic communications.

This five-day, hands on course will provide the attendee with the knowledge and skills required to investigate cyber crime and identify the responsible suspect. The course will be particularly useful for participants that may have little or no experience in investigating in a cyber environment.
