This is an introductory course on conducting proactive Internet investigations, where investigators interact with live Internet connected systems to obtain intelligence and contextual information. The attendee will learn the principals and best practices that investigators should apply when conducting an Internet based investigation of individuals, groups, social networks, or other targets of interest. The attendee will participate in hands on exercises that simulate investigations to identify hackers, carding and malware markets, criminal organizations and potential terrorist networks. The course is modular, with specialized content that can be directed toward investigators in corporate, government, and financial sectors.
