Advanced Digital Forensic Investigations

This is an advanced course on the collection, preservation and processing of digital evidence as it relates to computer related crimes. It is designed for Digital Forensic Investigators who have conducted basic digital forensic examinations and wish to increase their proficiency. The attendee will learn advanced principles and techniques that are utilized in the collection and processing of magnetic media from hard drives and Redundant Arrays of Independent Disks. The investigator will acquire the knowledge and skills that are required for conducting investigations of computer crimes for governmental and commercial organizations that can subsequently be used in legal proceedings. The investigator will also participate in practical exercises that simulate common computer crimes and the subsequent acquisition and examination of digital evidence.

Specifically you will learn to:

  • Acquire, Examine and Analyze Data Stored on Windows NT File Systems and Unix/Linux File Systems
  • Redundant Array of Independent Disks and Large Data Set Acquisition
  • Use the most current software tools to conduct forensic investigations

This five-day hands-on course provides investigators with the advanced knowledge and skills to conduct digital media analysis of a computer and network systems. Upon the conclusion of the seminar, the investigator will be able to identify, prepare and complete an advanced investigation of digital evidence.
